Ordinary People (1980)

I haven't seen many of the films from the late seventies and early eighties aside from the big ones like Apocalypse Now.  Ordinary People has always been kind of the big one, the Best Picture winner from the year before I was born that was never on TV as i grew up and really isn't mentioned when people talk about great movies   Even the tltle, Ordinary People, is   kind of extraordinary in its ordinariness.  I decided awhile ago to put it at the top of my Netflix queue and this weekend I sat down to watch it.

Recently, I again had the urge to see this movie. So I got it from Netflix and sat down to watch this afternoon.

This film was mentioned in a thread at the Catholic messageboard I visit in a discussion of how religion, treated respectfully, can play a key role.  I decided to check it out through Netflix.

The Grand Inquisitor (2008)

This short film's premise is a young woman comes across some books that are heavily annotated.  The annotations leave the impression that they were made by the Zodiac Killer.  The police aren't much help, so the young woman goes in search of the truth on her own.

The young woman, is played very well by Leah Dashe.  Opposite her is Marsha Hunt, an actress from Hollywood's Golden Age.  Both are perfect for their roles.

Recommended.
